Lia Cinquegrano launched her distinctively printed line of handbags,Thomas IV, to rave reviews back in Spring of 2011. The line’s eye-catching textural mash-up and functional styles were a much needed respite from the sea of tough girl accessories dripping in studs on the market then. Cool girl boutiques Barney’s Co-op, Jumelle, Bird and Steven Alan all placed orders and Cinquegrano’s bags were flying off the shelves.

Last winter was all about fisherman cable knit sweaters. This up-coming season the modest sweatshirt will have its turn in the spotlight as the new throw-on-with-everything top. Design duo Susanne Ostwald and Ingvar Helgason are the brilliant minds behind this London-based line which launched in 2008.

Fall 2011 ushered in the classic ankle-strap shoe with designers like Alexander Wang and Phillip Lim focusing their attention on dressing up our ankles in barely there straps wrapped seductively around the ankles. Wang went one step further calling attention to the ankles with the futuristic Fabiana complete with a superhero cape at the back of the strap.
Blog, August 2012 There are those girls whose nimble hands can tie up a turban or headscarf with such ease and precision, then there are the rest of us (like me) who struggle with folding the fabric just right, and spend most of the day fidgeting with it ‘till we get frustrated and pull it off our heads. So I was beyond thrilled to discover a line of head scarf and turbans are easy to manipulate and stay put.

Ever since I saw this shot of fashion consultant Miroslava Duma in a tailored pair of kick-ass overalls at Ulyana Sergeenko’s first couture fashion show in Paris earlier this summer, I’ve been totally obsessed with finding the perfect pair of overalls.
