In The Mood For…

Some cool goodies I’d love to see in my closet for spring. I’ve had these particular pieces on the brain for some time and just haven’t gotten around to getting my hands on them…or figuring out which ones are worth splurging on. The leather pants have my name written all over them. The Margiela boots are a classic covet of mine.

Diversity Rules at Tom Ford Fall 2013

Tom Ford’s Fall 2013 show was a circus of full-on color, textures and prints. This was truly an over the top collection and not for the wallflower. I’m not sure I could get away with wearing these looks as styled for the runway, but there most definitely were some very hot pieces I could see toning down teamed with some more somber pieces.

All Knitwear

All Knitwear, designed by Annie Larson, allows you to mix crazy kooky prints with the Midas touch of mix masters, like Susie Bubble. Multicolored pastiches of geometric patterns of all shapes and colors converge on knit cardigans, crewneck sweaters, skirts, leggings and hats. While I can’t believe I’m so late getting on the Larson bandwagon, I’m  grateful a lovely friend introduced me to this charming line by gifting me a comfy kaleidoscopic sweater.

Home Libraries

Some of my favorite stylish home libraries.

NYFW Fall 2013 Highlights

3.1 Phillip Lim Where to start? This is by far one of my favorite collections so far. Phillip Lim can do no wrong in my eyes, so I expected, at the very least, to find one or two pieces to fawn over. Instead, Lim sent out 46 spectacular looks that had me feigning for every individual piece.

Style DNA: Stylist & Model Ni'ma Ford

“I love getting dressed! I really do consider it an art form,” reveals stylist and model Ni’ma Ford. The name may not ring an instant bell but if you’re a fan of street-style blogs, like The Sartorialist, then you’ve seen her picture. And similar to Scott Schuman, you’ve been enamored by her style pedigree. Schuman has been such a fan of Ford that he put her on the cover of his latest book, Closer.

The Hunt For Overalls

If you follow Fringueuse on Pinterest, then you know that overalls hold a special place in my heart. They have since I was in middle school. I couldn’t be more thrilled that for Spring’13, designers are reproducing the look for us grown ups in a myriad of fabrics (velvet, silk, leather and denim, of course) and styles.

Genesis Vallejo for Charlotte Olympia

These vintage style images of Dominican stunner Genesis Vallejo modelling these gorgeous and cheeky Charlotte Olympia heels are so beautiful. The melding of photography and art is so stunning! And let’s not forget the shoes.Yes, the shoes! I just had to share these pictures. Head over to Tooklookbook for a great round up of fabulous Charlotte Olympia shoes and bags here.
