NYFW Fall 2013 Trend Spotting: Bermuda Shorts

Since spotting Bermuda shorts on the Spring 2013 runways of DKNY and Rag and Bone, I’ve been looking forward to taking this new hemline out for a spin once the weather warms up. This tailored version is a great alternative to the same old high-waisted denim short shorts we’re so used to. I was happy to see this silhouette popping up again on the Fall 2013 runways at NYFW. Tibi sent a lust-worthy leather pair down the runway and designer Amy Smilovic further convinced me of how cool this modest style is in her chic black number. I also fell in love with the Ostwald Helgason’s stellar printed and metallic versions. Marissa Webb teamed her polished Bermuda shorts with tights for a dialed-up school girl effect.
