London Fashion Week Spring 2013: Burberry Prorsum

London Fashion Week is in full swing and yesterday’s Burberry Prorsum show was a seriously dazzling celebration of British fashion. Designer Christopher Bailey continues to turn-out polished and imaginative high-performance updates on the brand’s iconic piece, the classic trench, every season. This season the signature outerwear has gone bright and seductive making for a glam riff on the original. The parade of marvelous jewel, metallic, iridescent, ombréd colored trench coats, capelets, Cristobal Balenciaga-inspired cocoon jackets and coats worn over a selection of ’40s inspired pencil skirts and peplum corsets were a convincing statement for spring. Not to be ignored were the fabulous accessories, the PVC doctor bags and wedges, in a multitude of colors that were ideal accoutrements to the strong outerwear.
