Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013

Michael Kors embraced a retro state of mind for Pre-Fall 2013 that did not disappoint. The 1950s inspired collection featured a bevy of high-waist tweed and lace pencil skirts, angora sweaters, cropped cigarette pants and strapless sheaths to feed the sartorial needs of any wannabe Hitchcock leading lady. Although extras like the cat eye glasses, fur stoles and elbow-length gloves may be obvious references to that era, Kors stayed just shy of being too literal by working in some modern edge. Stellar leather pieces, like the seriously polished motto jacket and a pair of very cool cropped pants, both of which we bet will fly off the shelves, made for a contemporary riff on the vintage look.
